NVFS Volunteer Recruitment Flyer Design
I had the opportunity to work with NVFS (Northern Virginia Family Service) on a flyer
design project aimed at recruiting volunteers for their NGO. This project was
completed through Catchafire, a platform that connects professionals with
nonprofits. The goal was to create an engaging flyer that effectively communicated
their volunteer program and encouraged participation.
Initial Flyer Concepts
The project began with the creation of four initial flyer designs. Each flyer was
tailored to highlight different visual elements, from typography to layout and color
schemes, all in alignment with NVFS’s mission. These flyers were designed to grab
attention while maintaining professionalism and clarity in delivering the message
Client Feedback and Revision Process
NVFS chose one of the initial designs but requested a few revisions, including
changes to the color scheme and additional copy to be included. Based on their
feedback, I developed six different versions of the selected flyer design,
experimenting with two key colors—purple and teal. These variations included
different borders, layout arrangements, and color combinations to provide a wide
array of options for the client to choose from.
Final Selection and Changes
From the six options, NVFS picked their preferred flyer but asked for some minor
adjustments. I then created two final flyers with these changes, allowing them to
make a more precise choice. This level of attention to detail and flexibility in
providing multiple options helped NVFS arrive at the perfect design for their needs.
Final Flyer Design
NVFS made their final selection, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The
chosen flyer was clean, professional, and aligned with their goals for volunteer
recruitment. The flexibility in design options and the willingness to incorporate
feedback ensured a smooth collaboration and successful final product.
Client Testimonial
The representative from NVFS, Karen, shared positive feedback on Catchafire, the
platform through which the job was acquired. The feedback highlights my ability to
collaborate, make necessary revisions, and offer multiple design choices, showcasing
my commitment to delivering the best results for my clients.
Design Approach
In this project, I focused on creating a versatile, eye-catching flyer that resonated
with the nonprofit’s goals while offering a wide range of choices for the client. From
initial designs to the final product, each version reflected the client’s evolving vision,
and I worked closely with them to make sure the result exceeded their expectations.
The project demonstrates my flexibility, attention to detail, and ability to provide
multiple design options, ensuring client satisfaction.
This project serves as an example of how I collaborate with clients to ensure their
needs are met while providing creative and varied solutions. I look forward to
working with more organizations that require impactful and adaptable designs.
